When entering competitions it is important to keep your personal life and your hobby in the proper place, therefore don’t allow comping to take over your life.
Set up an email
Some competitions require entry via email, or if you are filling in an entry form online there will usually be a box to input your email address, therefore you may wish to keep your personal email address seperate, you can create a free email Outlook email, https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/outlook/email-and-calendar-software-microsoft-outlook or Google mail, https://www.google.com/gmail/about/
Get social
There are lots of competitions on social media therefore you will need to have one or more social media accounts.

Terms & Conditions
Most competitions will include terms and conditions, make sure you read these as you will want to make sure you do not disqualify yourself by entering multiple times etc.
Stay safe
Unfortunately when you start comping you will likely see a rise in emails some of which could be scam/phishing emails, you will need to check the source of the email and if it is asking for payment or provide too many details in order to win a prize it is likely to be a scam.

Be organised
Try to make a note, either electronically or via a notpad/ diary of what you have entered, the name of the promoter and the closing date, this way if you win a prize you can keep a tab of what you have won, you can also thank the promoter when you receive your prize.
